ELMER LAYDEN Notre Dame FOUR HORSEMEN -signed 1969 First Day Cover -PSA. He was a member of the famed "Four Horsemen" backfield. Layden was also the Commissioner of the NFL before Bert Bell.

The item is encapsulated and certified by PSA/DNA the leader in the Authentication field. Signed in vintage ballpoint pen, probably in the early 70s. He is a charter (1951) member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He passed away in 1973 (49 years ago). The item is actually sharper than depicted because our scanner does not do justice to these slabbed items.

This item came from the famed Joe Gerson collection. Gerson lived in Atlanta and was integrally involved in every sports venture not only in the City, but in the State of Georgia. His collection was massive and included all sports. We back everything we sell, especially as to authenticity.
